Coral Castles was a perfect indie rock band that I was a member of. Along with songwriting responsibilities, multiple weekly practices and an intensive show schedule, I did all of the design work for the band over a 3 year period. Aside from numerous posters and other promotional materials, I designed the cover of our e.p., The Corpse and the Cake. My goal was to aesthetically translate our brand of angular pop rock into the cd design. I chose to use bright yellow shapes on a subdued gray background paired with simple clean typopgraphy. We went on to sell like millions of records and were lauded in the press as the best band since the dawning of rock n' roll. You're just going to have to trust me on this.
